Michael trained at Fletcher & Partners. On qualifying he joined Deloitte Haskins + Sells in Southampton and then became Finance Director of Thew Engineering Group plc. He was a Royal Naval Reservist for four to five years in the early 1980's, reaching the rank of sub lieutenant, before returning to Fletcher & Partners in 1986. Michael was made a partner in 1987 and his clients include professional practices, in particular doctors and estate agents, charities and companies. He also has an in depth knowledge of VAT. He has been Treasurer of the Friends of the Cathedral School and Treasurer of the Alabare Christian Care Centres and is currently Treasurer of Harnham PCC.
