James Fletcher MA DPhil FCA DChA
James joined the firm in 1990, having obtained his MA and DPhil in mathematics at Trinity College, Oxford. He was placed in the order of merit in both parts of the Chartered Accountants' examinations, qualifying in 1993. Since becoming a partner in 1997, James has specialised in trusts, private clients and charities. James became senior partner in April 2013.
James has considerable experience in solving complex technical problems which is not surprising as his interests include Twistor Theory and the Theory of Relativity. He has also been involved in strategic planning for a number of his charity clients, including writing a strategic management plan for a national charity.
Outside the office he is a trustee of two local charities.

Nicola A Halls MA FCA CTA
Nicola graduated in mathematics from St Peter’s College, Oxford in 1985 and then trained with Arthur Young in Leeds and Southampton, coming top in the region in her final exams. After qualifying she joined Fletcher & Partners and subsequently passed the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s examinations, becoming a partner of the firm in 1991. She went on to study financial planning and now assists clients with wealth management, tax planning and compliance issues. She is also a trustee of a number of private client and charitable trusts and a court of protection deputy. Her clients include small businesses (corporate and self employed), private clients, charities and trusts.
As well as looking after a large family, Nicola has interests in music and gardening if time allows.

Geoffrey Thomas BSc FCA
Geoff graduated in Geography from Loughborough University in 1988. He trained in Bristol before joining Fletcher & Partners in 1994. He left in 1997 and subsequently was employed by Hampshire County Cricket Club, where he was involved in the relocation of the Club to the new ground at West End. He moved to the Audit Commission, auditing Local Authorities, the NHS, Police and Fire Services. He rejoined Fletcher & Partners in 2008 as audit manager and became a partner in April 2013.
Geoff specialises in auditing and has an in-depth knowledge of commercial and charitable organisations.
Geoff was a keen athlete, cricketer and rugby player and enjoys watching sport when work and family commitments allow.

Lucinda M Smith BA (Hons) FCA
Cindy graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1989 with a degree in Accounting and Finance. She trained and qualified with Brebner, Allen and Trapp in London before relocating to Bristol where she continued to work within accountancy practices in audit and accountancy. From Bristol, Cindy moved to Salisbury; after working for a local practice, she took up a role as Financial Controller in an engineering company to broaden her experience; she joined Fletcher & Partners in 2016. Cindy manages the outsourcing team providing payroll, book keeping, management accounts and VAT services to a variety of businesses, independent schools and charities.
Cindy enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and watching cricket and rugby with her family.

Caroline Hopkins BSc (Hons) FCA
Caroline graduated from Leicester University. In 1986 she qualified with a small accountancy firm based in Southampton. She joined KPMG (London) in 1987 working for their Audit Services in a department specialising in shipping and insurance audits. She transferred to KPMG (Hannover) before taking a break for family.
Caroline joined Fletcher & Partners in 1996 working on personal tax and accounts before joining the audit team. In 2014 she became audit manager, managing a variety of audits chiefly in the charity sector. Caroline became an ICAEW Training Counsellor in 2019. In 2022 she became a partner. She is responsible for training.
Caroline is a trustee of a local charity and a school governor. She enjoys spending time with her family and walking the family dog. She also enjoys playing tennis and skiing.
